Mission

Mission

The organisers look forward to formulating an Iraqi message, through constructive dialogue and in a purely human language:

  • Enough of wars, conflicts and their repercussions.
  • Let us come together and move towards making a secure and lasting peace that allows everyone to enjoy freedom of opinion, tolerance and inclusivity.
  • Building a new understanding of Iraqi citizenship and restoring the inclusive national identity.
  • Expanding the circle of national, regional and global participation with its diversity of societal identities via dialogue and engagement.

Objectives

The objectives of the Iraq Forum are:
1. Contributing to the creation of a mature, open and balanced political environment that accommodates intellectual, social and human pluralism.
2. Directing collective awareness towards adopting the language of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding as the best way to diagnose, discuss and address existing crises.
3. Participation in peacemaking as a collective tent that ensures equality and coexistence for all individuals of different sects, nationalities and religions.
4. Openness to the experiences of civilised societies, developed capitals and successful leaders, within the framework of cross-fertilisation of ideas and their interaction and the application of what can serve the country.
5. Orientation towards developing a robust scientific research methodology in analysing, investigating and studying complex issues, in order to address them in a common national interest.
6. Creating serious and fruitful interaction between opinion makers and decision-makers on the basis of unity of responsibility in building the state’s policies and strategies.
7. Promoting collaborative interactions among Iraqi think tanks and research centres with overlapping interests in policy issues.
